7 Best DIY Bathroom Vanity Makeovers

Monday, July 7, 2014 -

If you have been following along, you know that I have been slowing updating my build-grade, master bathroom. Last week, I finished my DIY concrete countertop to go on top the vanity that I recently darkened and added hardware to

Adding a mosaic tile backsplash is on my to-do list this week, but I thought today it would be fun to share some of the 7 Best DIY Bathroom Vanity Makeovers from fellow bloggers. Feel free to "borrow" some of these simple ideas to update your own bathroom vanity.

Starting off with classic white. Virginia from LiveLoveDIY updated her honey oak cabinets with crisp white paint and even brightened the old tile with a special tub and sink paint. Pretty simple but big impact.

I love Jessie from Imperfectly polished! She is a girl after my own heart. Just look at what an amazing transformation she and her husband accomplished in their master bath! They also darkened their existing cabinetry with gel stain. Great minds think alike.

If you've spent much time on Pinterest, you've probably seen photos of my friend Ronda's master bathroom before. Its probably the most amazing DIY bathroom makeover I've ever seen and you will not believe how small their budget was! Stop by Batchelor's Way and read about the steps they took to create their masterpiece.

Domestic Imperfection happens to be one of my favorite reads. Case in point, Ashley took an old dresser, and custom built a new top using hardwood flooring. Add a new drop-in sink and she has a brand new vanity. So clever!

Once again proving that just about anything looks better painted white, Kate from Centsational Girl shows off her absolutely stunning bathroom make-over. Okay, you got me, this technically isn't a vanity, but it was the best angle to show a 'before' shot. The vanity is even more beautiful! Stop by to have a look.

I hadn't discovered Tiki Time DIY until recently, but I'm so glad I did! I L-O-V-E Brandi's vanity makeover! Seriously, jaw-dropping change. I love everything. The DIY concrete countertop, the tile wall, and vessel sinks. Its fabulous!

And last, but definitely not least, the adorable makeover from Lively Green Door. Paige and Ryan are adorable, and they successfully made their vanity adorable too. To transform this stock vanity, they added bun feet and a new sink. Top it off with some fun, blue-green paint and new knobs and they have a total transformation.

I noticed something all these vanities had in common. Lots of orange-y oak in the before shots. I hope this proves that just because your bathroom has an out-dated vanity, you don't have to live with it. It doesn't take much to give it a much needed face-lift.

Click over to these blogs, grab a paint brush, and get going! Happy updating!

  4. Great ideas. I wonder how did the kick plate dissappear when bun feet where added. I want to add legs to the sink and get that look.
