How to build a simple modern DIY dresser with 8 spacious drawers

Trying new things is good for you! I'm always urging you guys to try something new, like learning to weld or upping your staining game, so I suppose I should take my own advice. When my friends from BuildSomething.com asked me to create a new project I tried something new and I totally think it payed off! What do you think?

More about that fabulously shiny OSB later...

One of the dressers in our bedroom was a pressboard piece of junk about a million years old. We desperately needed a good replacement. I sketched up a modern design that incorporates four large drawers and four medium sized drawers. Lots of storage space!

This DIY dresser is totally constructed from plywood panels, which have to be cut down to size. Recently, I told you guys on Instagram live about my scary experience with my table saw. Since then, my saw and I are not on speaking terms. I'm angry with him.

Most cuts I would normally make with a table saw, I discovered I replicate with my new Kreg© Accu-Cut™ Circular Saw Guide Track System

It basically turns your plain ole circular saw into a track saw for a fraction of the price.

Don't worry, I'm sharing how I turned inexpensive Oriented Strand Board (OSB) into glossy gorgeousness next week.

In the meantime, I'm sharing the FULL Building Plans over at BuildSomething.com so you can make your own.

  3. When will you explain your finish on the drawer faces? I'm guessing expoxy resin, but curious if you have to frame off the faces to keep it from running off the edges?

    1. You actually DO want the epoxy to run off the edges to smooth them over. I'm working on the video today and hope to have it up by next Tuesday!
