How to Make an Ombre Concrete Lamp

how to make an ombre concrete lamp with video tutorial

I love making lamps! Honestly, I could have a whole blog on making lamps, but I'd run out of places to put them pretty soon. Last summer I shared my Tapered X lamps, which still sit happily on my custom nightstands, and today I'm showing you how to make an ombre, dyed concrete lamp.

I'm no stranger to concrete. I poured my own bathroom vanity top, made a little kitchen platform and used concrete again when I built my Rolling Outdoor Island. If you are a newbie to the world of concrete and are looking for a first project to get your feet wet, this is the perfect lamp for you!

How to make a solar powered, West Elm inspired mobile chandelier

I've been in love with the Mobile Chandelier from West Elm for a long while. I've been scheming of a way to make my own for months. I was walking through the garden center of Walmart last week and I discovered  these.

So, if my idea worked, not only would I have my West Elm knock off, but I could hang a chandelier over my patio without having to run new electrical.

Good news. It totally worked! I love it and if you scroll down, you can learn how to make your own solar powered mobile chandelier.

Industrial style tiki torch DIY tutorial

How's the weather where you are? It's been absolutely gorgeous here lately. We've been trying to spend as much time outside as possible. Although the days are getting longer, our backyard can get pretty dark. Bamboo tiki torches aren't my style, and steel torches can run upwards of $40 each. I came up with a DIY solution that costs only around $13 per torch, including fuel.
