Holiday Gift Ideas for Tool Lovers and DIY Fans

Holiday gift giving guide for the tool lover or DIY fan on your Christmas list

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product or payment in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Holy cow! How is this year going by so fast? How is it already December? I have a confession: I am a horrible procrastinator. I haven't bought a single Christmas gift yet.

My twin boys are ten years old now and that means they are still super easy to shop for. We draw names for the extended family, so that means we only have a couple people to shop for there as well. My husband on the other hand, he's the tricky one. He's a super handy guy and possibly loves tools as much as I do. I combed through HomeDepot.com and made a list of gift ideas in every price range. Truth be told, it's really just a collection of my favorite tools and gadgets and several new items I'm itching to buy for myself.

If you have a tool lover or DIY fan on your holiday list, keep scrolling and feel free to add those things you've been needing to the shopping cart as well.

Ryobi 3/8 Inch VS. Ridgid 1/2 Inch Impact Wrench Head to Head

tool review Head to head review comparison between a Ryobi 38 inch Impact Driver and a Ridgid OCTANE 12 inch Impact Driver

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product or payment in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Alright guys, it's been a while but it's time to talk tools again!

Unless you do a lot of mechanical work or heavy duty construction, you might not be familiar impact wrenches. Easily confused with an impact driver, and impact wrench has a  male stud as opposed to a  female collet or chuck. They are designed to accommodate sockets, not bits. Traditionally, impact wrenches were pneumatically powered and often found in mechanic's shops.

I own a couple impact wrenches and I actually use them WAY more than I thought I would. They are extremely powerful tools that can be used for a number of different jobs.

How Many Teeth to Cut Plywood - Circular Saw Showdown

Monday, January 28, 2019 -
What circular saw blade tooth count is best for cutting delicate plywood I do a side by side comparison so you can see how each cut looks

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product or payment in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Plywood is tricky stuff. I would say I get more questions about plywood than any other material I use, many of them about cutting. Knowing the right saw blade to use seems to be one of the biggest pain points. What do those numbers mean? What's the difference between a "framing" blade and one for trim? I figured I'd do a very unscientific test and show multiple 6-1/2" circular saw blades with different tooth counts and the cuts they make.

*I tested all the 6-1/2" circular saw blades currently available through The Home Depot*

I am making a vow right here and now. This will be the year when I finally stop procrastinating and buy/make all my holiday gifts early. No last minute shopping for me!

I already have my boys and siblings crossed off the list, now I'm moving on to my husband. Luckily, he loves tools as much as I do, so he's never hard to shop for. If you happen to have a tool lover on your list, I put together an updated gift guide for you. It's got some of my all time favorite gadgets, plus a few I plan on asking Santa for.

I've told you guys before about the mess I call a shop. It's bad. Organization is not my strong suit, that's for sure.

I'm working on it guys.

Since I've participated in The Home Depot ProSpective tool review program for a little while, I'm starting to grow a pretty healthy collection of tools. I've done a couple of projects to help provide storage, like my garage storage wall. That helps with tools and bigger things, but I really needed somewhere to stash little things like nuts, screws, dowels and nails.

RYOBI Cordless Dywall Screw Gun Review

ryobi 18v cordless brushless lightweight inexpensive drywall screw gun tool review

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product or payment in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

I've hung some drywall in my day. I got my feet wet when I remodeled our kitchen and added a new pantry, but I learned quite a bit more on our master bathroom remodel. Although I'd much rather be out in the garage putting wood together, I'm a cheapskate and drywall is a pretty straight forward job most DIYers can handle themselves.

You're probably thinking "I'm a woodworker. I don't need wrenches." False. Whether it's tightening carriage bolts on table legs, or driving lag screws, I've often found myself needing a wrench or two to get the job done. I recently was sent the new Husky Universal Combination Wrench sets and they motivated me to up my wrench game.

The Best BUDGET Impact Driver + GIVEAWAY!

The best budget impact driver for a DIYer or power tool fan Ryobi brushless impact product review

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

I chose my blog name, Pneumatic Addict, after being inspired by my favorite power tool, the brad nailer. A very close second is the impact driver. I love those little guys! I can honestly say I use an impact driver on almost every project. If you're interested in learning what's the difference between an impact driver and a power drill, check out this blog post all about drills

I currently own 5 different impact drivers, all from different manufacturers. If you are on a budget, I'd hands down recommend the new brushless impact from Ryobi.

5 Tools to Bring Camping

5 essential tools to bring camping to make life easier simple tips

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Labor day is this weekend friends, and that means for many of you it's the last chance to go make friends with the Great Outdoors before fall hits. One of the benefits of living in Arizona is that we get to enjoy camping from about April to October. I bet you didn't know almost half of Arizona is actually covered in mountains and pine trees (yes, seriously). The majority of the Arizona population lives in Phoenix or Tucson, smack dab in the desert, so that's the image most of us get when we think of AZ. Surprisingly, although I live in a Phoenix suburb, I'm only about 1-2 hours from mountain lakes and cool breezes.

Both my husband and I love to go camping. In fact, we actually met on camping trip with mutual friends. We also both love tools! On our last trip to the mountains, we brought several tools to make life away from home a little easier. I put together a list of 5 extremely helpful tools you definitely need to bring with you when you camp.

The Best Router for a Beginner Woodworker

The best and easiest router for a beginner woodworker or DIYer

*This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. I have been compensated for my time and provided with product in exchange. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Have you noticed how almost every tools is battery powered these days? I'm kinda old school and typically reach for corded models. However, when I first spotted the Ryobi 18-Volt Cordless Router at The Home Depot ProSpective kick-off event earlier this year, I knew I had to get my hands on one!

Have you been thinking about buying a router? I love my old routers but admittedly. I'm always fighting the cords or struggling to keep the cords out of my way. I've been using the Ryobi Cordless router for a couple months now, and I've decided it's absolutely the best router for a beginner woodworker or DIYer - here's why.

I'm able to keep providing ideas and share new project with you guys largely thanks to sponsorship from brands that I love and use. You guys are important to me. I don't want to steer you wrong. I have never and will never endorse a company or product that I don't personally use and stand behind. Basically, if I wouldn't recommend something to my best friend, you won't see it on this blog.

Last year, I professed my love the the Finish Max by HomeRight. You can read my review about it here

At SNAP conference this year, I ran into a blogging friend who has been working with HomeRight. I gushed about how awesome the Finish Max is and she said "You need to try the Finish Max Pro! It's even better!" (As I type this, I realize that it sounds made up. I promise you, DIY bloggers really do get this excited over things like paint sprayers). Flash forward a few weeks, and I got a chance to play with my very own *Finish Max Pro
