Maegan's Entertainment Console

I am the youngest in my family. Just before my senior year in high school, my parents made the decision to relocate from San Diego to Phoenix in hopes to slowly transition into retirement.

Whenever someone hears my story they always ask "Wasn't it hard to move before your senior year?" There were some growing pains, and I still miss some of my good friends from Cali, but moving to Arizona was one of the best things to happen to me.

I was lucky enough to find a great group of friends at my new school, all of whom I still talk to. My two best friends are sisters, Nicki and Maegan.

This is us right before Nicki and I graduated high school. Geez, look at my hair! And those braces! I wonder why I never got asked out. 

I stayed home and went to beauty school while Nicki and Maegan both went to my dream school, BYU (but I'm not bitter or anything). I would fly up to Utah to be with them often, and when they would come home for the summer, we would party like college kids should.

Maeg has this magnetism to her. I'm not exaggerating when I say I couldn't take her anywhere without some guy asking me for her number. She is not only beautiful, but brilliant, funny, and good at just about everything.

Over the years I have grown very close to Maegan's whole family. Her sisters, little brother, and parents are like family to me.

Currently, Maegan is married to an equally awesome guy, but unfortunately lives on the other side of the country. I'm working on the assumption she will be back to Arizona....eventually.

Recently. Maeg has been working on refinishing old furniture. When she showed me photos of her first project I was in awe. Check out this french buffet before.

And after she turned it into a vintage entertainment console.

See, I told you she was good at everything.

I love the layered, chippy finish! And the original brass details are so cool and on-trend.

She is such a fast learner, Maegan is already thinking about going into the furniture business too. Although she's asking questions from me now, I'm sure she'll pass me up in no time.
