DIY Leather Fringe Boho Chandelier

How to make a leather fringe boho style chandelier with step by step tutorial

Kids spaces are so hard for me!!! Is it just me or do you struggle to walk the line between style and function? My boys have a small den right off the living room we call their "game room". The only games really are a few board games in a cupboard, but it sounds so much less formal than "den".

6 FREE Minimalist Mountain Art Prints

Monday, October 31, 2016 -

Happy Halloween everyone! I want to thank you all for the fantastic response to my boys' Modern Bunk Beds that I shared last week! I'm thrilled with how they turned out and I'm glad you guys liked them too.

My twin boys' bedroom is getting a full makeover. I'm still putting together the rest of the furniture and design elements, but wanted to share my latest project with you. I want to give the room a very subtle, mountain/wilderness theme while still keeping the modern style that runs through the rest of the house. I sketched up a set of 6 minimalist, printable art prints to hang on the wall.

How to make a solar powered, West Elm inspired mobile chandelier

I've been in love with the Mobile Chandelier from West Elm for a long while. I've been scheming of a way to make my own for months. I was walking through the garden center of Walmart last week and I discovered  these.

So, if my idea worked, not only would I have my West Elm knock off, but I could hang a chandelier over my patio without having to run new electrical.

Good news. It totally worked! I love it and if you scroll down, you can learn how to make your own solar powered mobile chandelier.

Frameless Floating Art Tutorial

How to make your own frameless, floating, acrylic art frame.

The new house is. done people! Well, done enough for now. I kinda doubt we will ever stop working on it to tell the truth. No worries, photos coming soon I promise!

So, now that the remodeling is done, its time to start decorating! I've decided I love the look of white walls. Something I've discovered is, if you are going to have white walls, you've got to have some amazing art hanging on them. I've had an idea for a floating frame swimming around in my head for a while. Combine that with a gorgeous art print I spotted on the Minted website, and I'm one step closer to filling my walls.

How to create a tone on tone pattern on a wall using a stencil

Remember last week when I shared my hairpin leg vanity? Did you notice the beautiful brunette modeling? Well, that's my best friend Nicki. She and I have been like peas and carrots since High School. Nicki recently bought a gorgeous new house and we have been working bit by bit to make it a home. Anyone remember the DIY entertainment center we built?

"Consider the Lilies" Printable

Free "Consider the Lilies" printable.

Happy Monday everyone. I think most of the country is starting to settle into spring, and in our house we are getting ready for Easter.

This time of the year reminds me of my Grandma and her favorite song "Consider the Lilies" (you can listen to it here). A few nights ago, I had that beautiful song in my head, so I was prompted to open my bible and read the verses that inspired the song.

Make your own DIY chandelier using inexpensive craft foam

I'm a great boy mom. Despite the fact that I am a licensed hairstylist and have been known to sport 6" heels from time to time, I'm really not a girly-girl. When it comes to raising kids, I do much better with mudpies and monsters than glitter and emotions.

DIY concrete kitchen platform

Are kitchen canisters still cool? Whether they are or not, I have a hand-me-down set we received seven years ago, when we got married. I decided my kitchen might look a little cooler if I introduced some concrete to the mix.

DIY Geometric Bank

Saturday, December 6, 2014 -

With Christmas right around the corner, I've been working on some DIY gifts. I've heard its a stage that a lot of kids go through, but my boys have been obsessed with money lately. Anytime I pull out my wallet, they start begging for pennies. My husband and I have been trying to teach them that money is valuable, and something we have to work for. So, I decided to build them each a DIY coin bank.

15 Alternative Christmas Trees

Monday, November 24, 2014 -

I'm all for tradition. Classic evergreen Christmas trees are great, BUT....

Sometimes you just need something new. I put together a round-up of 15 stylish, alternative Christmas trees that you can DIY. Don't worry, I will still put up my old-school, green tree this year, but you can bet I'm going to have a few of these non-traditional babies around the house too.
