Master Bedroom Reveal + Purple Hybrid Premier Mattress Review

You guys have been asking alllll about our house. I know, it's been a while since I've given you an update. I'm currently editing the next two episodes right now, but in the meantime, we just finished up the master bedroom and it's time to share!

I created a bonus episode of #BuildingModernOnABudget covering the highs and lows of the bedroom build and design. Spoiler Alert: There was an EPIC fail.

I love a good white wall (weird personal fact: white is my favorite color) but with the basic white bedding, it was looking like a snowstorm in there. The space was in desperate need of some contrast.

I love color, but currently I'm on a neutrals kick. The idea was to mix a blend of warm and cool neutrals in with the white, keeping everything soft and light. What do you think?

Want to know another weird personal fact? We’ve been sleeping on the same saggy mattress for 11 years – but it gets better. Not only is our mattress over a decade old, we bought it used. Yep, you read that right. We bought a used mattress.

At the time, Bryce was out of work, I was doing hair from my kitchen while trying to take care of two newborn babies, and we desperately needed a mattress. Long story short, someone told us about someone they knew who was getting rid of a mattress that they bought for a guest room and used once.

The softness is instantly gratifying when you jump in bed and my old-lady back doesn't hurt when I wake up in the morning.

You guys have heard me talk about living in Arizona and the insane heat.
