Mid-Century Industrial Storage

Monday, May 5, 2014 -

This is one of those projects I'm having a reeealy hard time selling.

You see, it all started a couple months ago at a casino flea market (classy, I know). Bryce was trying to wrangle our boys while I quickly ran through the aisles, browsing. I spotted a cool, industrial metal shelving unit. Not thinking it would be in my price range, I asked the owners "how much".

Coffee Table Turned Tufted Bench

Friday, May 2, 2014 -
I was browsing through my old photos and found this post. I originally shared it over at Home Coming. You can read how I took a old, oddly proportioned coffee table and turned it into a diamond-tufted, upholstered bench.

I can't believe I forgot to take a "before" photo! The original color was that yellow-ish, cream color every piece of french furniture was painted last century. The top was a slab of cultured marble that looked like it was added later. The plan was to incorporate the marble into a different table, but... I have small children. I pulled it off and had it leaning against the wall in the garage, my boys found it, and there went my grand idea. I was able to save one larger piece at least.

With some pieces of furniture I have to get really creative, or put a lot of thought into what I want it to look like. As soon as I saw this table base, I got an idea. Go glam.

SNAP! Recap 2014

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Hello again! I just got back from the best experience I've had since I started blogging! SNAP conference 2014. The weekend was chocked full of information, food, networking, more food, and fun. A blogging conference may not sound like great way to spend 4 days, but trust me, you'd want to go too.

I was blessed to be able to attend Haven, last summer in Atlanta. It was very helpful, but SNAP was a whole different experience. Although I loved Haven (and am working on going again this year), I decided I would break down the reasons why this conference rocked just a little harder.

Life Changing Skill (AKA: How to Cut a Perfect Circle With a Table Saw)

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

You might not think being able to cut a perfect circle on a common table saw is life changing, but you may not be a DIY blogger, you may not be a perfectionist, and you may not loath using a jigsaw with your whole being.

Butcher Block Sofa Table

I could have just taken full credit for this little table and no one would have been the wiser.... but then I would have been a huge jerk.
