One Last Call for Your Awesomeness

Tuesday, March 11, 2014
If you follow me on Facebook (like, all 11 of you) you may have seen my recent plea for help. I have entered an epic competition called Creating With the Stars, hosted by East Coast Creative.

Its a pretty big deal. As the name implies, less-known bloggers (like me) are paired up with well-known "Blog Stars" and enter into 4 weeks of intense DIY competition. Amazing creativity and drool worthy prizes ensue.

The way the competition works, is basically everyone in the blog world submits a project, then the "Blog Stars" choose the 12 contestants. One thing that will be considered in the decision making process is how many clicks each submitted project received. This is where you come in.

For my entry, I linked up my World Market "Aiden" Coffee Table Knock-off.

So, if you want to be my best friend, you can go over to link up page here and click on entry #86, like a billion times. Pretty please? Today, Wednesday 3/11/14 is the last day, so act quickly!

Being part of this competition would be life changing. Last year, I know of at least 3 bloggers who went from "never heard of you" to major icons in the DIY blogging world, after being a part of this competition.

Seriously, I am constantly blown away by the support and love I receive from my readers. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! I'm just an ordinary person, like anyone else, but yet thanks to you all, I have a place to showcase my creativity and grow my business. I truly appreciate every page view, comment, like, and pin! Thank you friends!

Thinking of Grandpa (Plus a GIVEAWAY!)

Tuesday, February 25, 2014
I'm one of the lucky few who grew up with both my grandfathers alive. They both have been so influential in my life, but today I'm thinking of my Grandpa Huish.

Look at what a stud he was! That's him with my mom as a little girl.

Grandpa was talented at so many things! He spoke Spanish fluently, was an inspiring educator and community leader, and could polish off a quart of ice cream faster than anyone I've met. Like me, he was also a DIYer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; casters are expensive! Seriously. And if you want vintage metal casters, you may have to take out a second mortgage.
