I'm all for tradition. Classic evergreen Christmas trees are great, BUT....
Sometimes you just need something new. I put together a round-up of 15 stylish, alternative Christmas trees that you can DIY. Don't worry, I will still put up my old-school, green tree this year, but you can bet I'm going to have a few of these non-traditional babies around the house too.

Last week I shared a sneak peak of the Merry and Bright Blogger Mash-up (A.K.A. a bunch of SUPER talented do-it-yourself bloggers teamed up, threw a party, and decided to invite me in on the action). I promised tutorials, and here is my first. (Psst... Printable cut-list below!)

Once I decided to build a Pottery Barn knock-off desk for my husband, I knew the desk would be lonely without a pair of classic bookshelves. Its hard to find good bookshelves people, especially tall ones. When you look online, you find a sea of particle board and bad laminate. Luckily, once upon a time (like... the 90's) you could easily find solid wood bookshelves. The best news is, since "they" decided oak is ugly, you can pick up a pair of these babies for peanuts on Craigslist.

I am so excited to share today's post! I may have a new all-time favorite project. A few of you have been asking "Is the desk finished???". I've been sharing a few sneak peeks on Instagram and Facebook. Well, the desk has actually been done for a little while. The reason for the delay is I am involved in a seriously awesome collaboration (forgive me if I get a little fan-girl right now).
