A couple weeks ago I shared my Modern 8 Drawer Dresser with you guys and I've gotten such a good response! You guys rock! I've had several people ask for more information about the finish I used and how I got the OSB drawer faces so smooth. To show you how simple it was, I made a video tutorial.

It's going to happen. Maybe you'll bump against the door frame while moving into your new house, or your house guest will insist on dropping his keys on your wood coffee table. Somehow your beloved furniture is going to end up scratched. I had a mini breakdown after we moved into our current house and I discovered almost every single piece of furniture that I had built with my blood, sweat and tears was damaged. Luckily there are ways to fix furniture scratches and scuffs.

Both my husband and I love to go camping. In fact, we actually met on camping trip with mutual friends. We also both love tools! On our last trip to the mountains, we brought several tools to make life away from home a little easier. I put together a list of 5 extremely helpful tools you definitely need to bring with you when you camp.

I might make pretty things, but until recently the space where I made those things sure wasn't pretty. My garage was downright embarrassing and in need of some MAJOR storage! In one afternoon, with some sturdy hardware, I created a totally customizable garage storage wall. No more boxes on the floor!

Trying new things is good for you! I'm always urging you guys to try something new, like learning to weld or upping your staining game, so I suppose I should take my own advice. When my friends from BuildSomething.com asked me to create a new project I tried something new and I totally think it payed off! What do you think?

Kids spaces are so hard for me!!! Is it just me or do you struggle to walk the line between style and function? My boys have a small den right off the living room we call their "game room". The only games really are a few board games in a cupboard, but it sounds so much less formal than "den".

We've got a nightly routine. After dinner and homework it's Netflix time. My husband and I claim the living room and kick the kids to their game room/den. Although my French Doors and DIY Transom window majorly improved the outside view of the game room, the inside has been pretty much ignored. It contains some hand-me-down furniture, a tube TV, and an inexpensive futon couch.

Have you been thinking about buying a router? I love my old routers but admittedly. I'm always fighting the cords or struggling to keep the cords out of my way. I've been using the Ryobi Cordless router for a couple months now, and I've decided it's absolutely the best router for a beginner woodworker or DIYer - here's why.

Summer doesn't officially start for another week, but in our home, we've already been living the "summer life" for a while. We've been taking advantage of the mild evenings and eating on the patio as much as we can. Our last outdoor dining situation was looking pretty sad, so I finally built us a patio table that fits my design style much better.

Most of us in the southwest have a common view when we walk into the backyard - a massive concrete block wall. Although they are great for privacy and durability, they can look a little prison-yard-ish. My in-laws can grow just abut about anything, so I wanted to build them a cute, hanging garden to decorate their great wall of china, block fence. Drilling into concrete provides a new challenge, but is definitely do-able with the right tools. With the miles and miles of cinder block in Arizona, it's a skill I'm glad I learned.

I'm able to keep providing ideas and share new project with you guys largely thanks to sponsorship from brands that I love and use. You guys are important to me. I don't want to steer you wrong. I'm totally in love with the current bohemian trend, especially in home decor. My house is more on the traditional/mid-century side, but I've been dying to work a little boho in. Last weekend I got my crafter on and made a fun leather tassel throw pillow.

Welcome back friends! Thanks so much for all the positive feedback on the renter friendly, faux fireplace I helped my buddy Kinda build. You guys know how to make a girl feel special. Make sure to check out Part One: Hearth and Part Two: Fireplace to get caught up to this point in the build. Today I'll show you how I tackled the over-mantle, or decorative part above the fireplace.

Are you guys ready for the good stuff?! Yesterday I showed you how to build the hearth, or base of a movable faux fireplace. Today, I'm sharing the star of the show- the fireplace itself! Since this fireplace/over-mantle set up doesn't need a chimney or flue, you can place it on pretty much any wall you'd like.

I am so excited to finally share my newest project with you guys! My friend Kindra and I have been slowly working away between naps and homework for months, but her gorgeous new fireplace, hearth, and over-mantle are finally done! You've probably seen electric fireplaces before, but you've never seen a set-up like this!
It may not look like it, but this faux fireplace is renter friendly! You can separate the three pieces and take the whole thing with you when you move. All that will be left behind are a few screw holes, which can be easily filled. The overmantle can easily support a 55" TV. Honestly, you would have no idea the whole fireplace wasn't "built in" unless I told you so.

Most of you guys know I live in the Phoenix area. I actually live in the quaint suburb called Gilbert. Downtown Gilbert is full of cute little shops and yummy restaurants; a totally fun place to hang out. Last week, I had the chance to cruise on over to downtown and had one of the best girl's night out ever! Some of my blogging buddies and I were invited to The Art House, where we got to play around and create our own piece of art.

Wow! How is it February already!? Have you ever had a hard time getting back into the groove after taking some time off? I really enjoyed my break during the holidays and being totally honest with you, I was having the hardest time getting my work ethic back (which is very unlike me). I was raised to believe if you aren't working, you're being lazy and being lazy is worse than Nickleback.
The slump wasn't for lack of inspiration! I always have 100 ideas spinning in my head at any given moment and spent the first few weeks on the year pinning "to-do" items and sketching plans. I finally kicked my butt in gear and tackled a project I've been dying to try - a stacked plywood lamp. I love making lamps! I know electricity sounds scary, but they really are pretty easy. I made a video tutorial for my Ombre Concrete Lamp and we still use our Tapered X Lamps everyday on our nightstands in our bedroom.
